Custom billiard chalk is a combined product and packaging project. A logo file alone is not enough to quote accurately because formula reference, color, shape, dimensions, units per pack, printing and master-carton requirements can all affect feasibility and cost.
Start with the product specification
Describe the intended market and provide a reference product or performance brief. The supplier needs to understand whether the project prioritizes grip, cleaner application, color, retail price position or another measurable requirement. Avoid unsupported claims such as “best” or “professional formula” unless there is a defined test or approved comparison behind them.
Custom options to define
| Area | Buyer information |
|---|---|
| Formula | Reference product, intended application and required characteristics |
| Shape | Standard or requested shape, dimensions and mold requirement |
| Color | Standard color or Pantone reference, subject to sample approval |
| Logo | Artwork, size, position and application method |
| Retail pack | Pieces per pack, box, tube, insert, label and barcode |
| Master carton | Units per carton, shipping marks and protection requirements |
Formula and color need physical approval
Computer screens cannot confirm actual chalk color, texture or application behavior. Use a sample to review appearance and handling. If the buyer supplies a Pantone number, treat it as a target rather than a guarantee until the physical sample is approved under agreed viewing conditions.
Logo and packaging files
Provide production-ready vector artwork and identify the approved wording. The buyer is responsible for the right to use all trademarks, barcodes and destination-market content. Existing third-party chalk brands shown in the wholesale catalog are separate resale products; their names, logos and branded packaging cannot be copied for an OEM project.
Retail pack decisions
- Pieces of chalk per package
- Box, sleeve, tube or other feasible structure
- Printed insert and user instructions
- Buyer-supplied barcode and importer information
- Required language and destination-market wording
- Master-carton quantity and shipping marks
Packaging should be approved with the product because it affects unit cost, carton volume, freight and presentation. Changing the pack after sample approval can require a new quote or schedule.
Sample, MOQ and bulk production
The standard customized MOQ is 500 pcs. Sample production normally takes 7-15 days. The sample fee depends on the formula, mold, logo and packaging work required. When bulk production is confirmed, any sample-fee credit should be documented in the accepted quotation.
Normal bulk production is 30-35 days after product, sample, artwork, packaging and payment approval. A standard 50% deposit applies. Timing may change if the project needs a new mold, revised artwork or repeated sample rounds.
Shipping and trade terms
FedEx air shipment can be discussed for appropriate orders, or goods can be released to a buyer-appointed freight forwarder. The standard trade basis is DAP, with alternatives discussed by project. Destination, import clearance responsibilities, duties and taxes should be stated in the commercial documents.
