A private-label billiard chalk project needs a controlled product specification and an approved packaging file. Asking a supplier to “add our logo” leaves the formula, color, dimensions, pieces per package and quality expectations undefined, making quotations difficult to compare.
Separate branded resale from private label
Branded billiard chalk is purchased as an existing model for resale. Private-label chalk is developed under the buyer's own brand. Third-party trademarks, logos and branded packaging cannot be copied into an OEM project. Use branded best sellers only to understand market formats, then create a distinct specification and artwork.

Formula requests need measurable language
Terms such as premium, clean or high grip are subjective unless the buyer explains the expected result. State what will be reviewed during sampling. If a competitor product is provided as a reference, it should guide discussion rather than authorize copying its protected appearance or claims.
Color and shape
Provide a Pantone reference when brand consistency matters, but approve the physical sample because screens, printed cards and chalk material can appear different. New shapes or dimensions may require mold assessment, additional cost and more development time. Confirm this before the quotation is accepted.

The buyer should verify the legal right to use all artwork, claims, barcodes and destination-market wording. Packaging must be approved before production because it affects unit cost, carton volume and schedule.
Sample approval
Sample development normally takes 7-15 days. The fee depends on formula, shape, printing and packaging requirements. Review product appearance, dimensions, color, logo, package count and packing condition. If the sample fee will be credited after a bulk order is confirmed, state the condition in writing.
MOQ and production schedule
The standard customized MOQ is 500 pcs. Buyers should state whether this quantity uses one formula, color and package design or requires multiple variants; combinations must be reviewed during quotation. Bulk production normally takes 30-35 days after the sample, artwork, packaging and payment are approved. The standard deposit is 50% of the order total.
Quality and shipment records
Agree on visible workmanship, quantity, pack count, logo, labels and carton marks before production. If the buyer requires a test method, tolerance, inspection level or third-party inspection, include it at the quotation stage. Shipment can be discussed by FedEx air or a buyer-appointed freight forwarder. The standard trade basis is DAP, with alternatives negotiated by project.
